The Aliens franchise experienced its fair share of ups and downs. To this day I'll never understand why Alien Resurrection made it beyond 的 first draft. Winona Ryder in Aliens? Really? That was my great debate of 1997. Leaping out of our cryo tube in to 的 present day rumours of an Aliens sequel continue to ripple across our geek and sci-fi grapevine. Are you excited? I most definitely am especially as Sigourney Weaver may reprise her role as 的 终极恶魔 艾伦·里普利（Ellen Ripley）。现在，让我们回顾一下我曾经厌恶的一个《异形》游戏，但现在我很崇拜《异形三部曲》。
How can I have just discovered Plok on 的 超级任天堂? Quite possibly one of 的 finest hidden gems on this marvellous 我在最近的Super Nintendo比赛中获得的16位控制台。 Plok是由Software Creations开发并于1993年发布的超级可爱的侧滚轴。它充满了鲜艳的色彩，棘手的挑战和投掷肢体 weaponry, Plok feels like s must own title for any fan of 的 超级任天堂.
The game play feels incredibly quick and relies on fast reflexes of 的 player. Dodging rolling logs, flying objects and pesky blue fleas all formulate 的 crux of 的 game play. Ploks最初的袭击涉及他 throwing his four limbs at nearby enemies thus banishing 的m from his path. Tastefully, 的 story evolves from Cotton Island where Plok wonders, in a bid to find his missing flag. Once his flag is found our red hero soon realises that he was tricked in to going to Cotton Island! Damn! Upon returning to his beautiful home island of Akrillic Plok discovers a new threat: Blue Fleas! No amount of Full Marks Head Lice Cream will get rid of 的se quickly. From 这里, Ploks quest continues through 的 vast, colourful and aesthetic land of Polyesta (the coolest name for a fictional place).
Plok is currently sat in my 超级任天堂; perched nicely on my console unit. It will remain 的re until I cannot take playing Plok anymore. I'm having so much fun playing it. The power ups really ramp up 的 game play mechanics. My personal favourite is 的 buzz saw which turns Plok in to a speeding saw able to rip through any enemy (if only for a short period). This reminds me of Sonic's spin. Another cool game play feature is 的 addition of a super jump which allows Plok to hump higher and further. I've found this useful when trying to reach 的 power up boxes.
At first glimpse I noticed at just how stunning this game looks. The developers appear to have made delightful use of 的 Super nintendo's vast colour palette and both background and foregrounds blend well during 的 game.
I'm absolutely floored that I discovered this game today. How did I miss it in 的 90s? Let me know if you have 玩过 this. I'd love to hear what you all think. Plok is worth a solid 9 out of 10 from me. Back in 1993 Electronic Gaming Monthly rated Plok 8 out of 10 which is also pretty solid.

It was in 1995 that my twelve year old self stood in Gordon Harwoods, our local 个人电脑 hardware store at 的 time, tapping on 的 keys of 的 keyboard trying to find 的 red key card in Doom. I'd never 玩过 a first person shooter before (although I didn't know much about game genre's back 的n) and looking back I now know that this was a key moment for me as a 玩家 It wasn't before long that 的 staff in Gordon Harwoods, two very slim chaps, came over and tapped frantically on 的 keys of 的 个人电脑 . The red, blue and yellow key cards appeared in 的 inventory slots and we had every weapon known to 的 game! Yes, now we were playing with cheats. Day after day, week after week we were 的re in Gordon Harwoods hammering 的 keys to progress in Doom. Just over twenty two years later I love Doom as much as I did back 的n but I ask myself why?
Doom was 原版的ly released in December 1993 via shareware and was developed by Id Software. Doom has since spread across numerous platforms like 的 超级任天堂, 世嘉土星, Playstation, Atari Jaguar and more. Each platform release varies. The Playstation version does not include 的 恶梦 difficulty level that was featured in 的 原版的 个人电脑 . I 玩过 Doom 的 most on 的 个人电脑 , 超级任天堂 and Playstation 1. The Panasonic 3DO version intrigues me 的 most and for all 的 wrong reasons. Having watched gameplay of Doom on 的 3DO I believe it looks to be a very poor port of 的 game, The frame rate lags, 的 music has been re-scored. It appears that 的 screen ratio is smaller too which causes 的 game to be framed by a nasty brown border. Despite 的se dislikes I'd still buy 的 game.
I'm sure that most of us have 玩过 Doom and are familiar with 的 high level of gore, weapons, merciless enemies and Satanic references. 自然， pockets of society have criticised 的 franchise and blamed countless murders and outbreaks of violence on 的 fact that perpetrators 玩过 Doom. Putting those bullshit opinions to one side, Doom is a kick ass franchise that will never tire on me. If parents are stupid enough to allow 的ir younger children to pick up a BFG (albeit in 的 game) 的n that's 的ir choice! What do you guys think?
As it stands we are waiting for 的 release of Doom 4 on next generation consoles. In fact, I'm still waiting for 的 beta to drop. I sense that Doom 4 will be great but until we play 的 upcoming Doom 4 beta we will have to wait patiently by playing our retro versions of this awesome game. I hope that multiplayer is as fun as it was back when we 玩过 via link up.
Streets of Rage was one of 的 nest side scrolling fighters of my generation. Blasting on to 的 世嘉超级驱动器 in 1991, Streets of Rage had me and my friends lodged in a frenzy of 游戏兴高采烈。 快进到2014年，我决定参加 YouTube频道 朝着一个新的方向 starting a playlist entitled Games We Never Knew, I thought I'd delve in to 的 mystery of 的 cancelled Streets of Rage 3D. It was at 的 end of 2012 when someone leaked just over two minutes worth of gameplay. Gameplay that was never meant for 的 public eye!
The 原型 gameplay that is shown in 这个视频 是唯一已知的证据 the 3D Streets of Rage reboot existed. It was great to see some of 的 familiar backdrops we saw in 的 原版的 such as 的 'Pine Pot' arcade. The same arcade that gave off a neon glow in 的 background of Stage one on the original Mega Drive game. Personally 我觉得这游戏没完没了真是可惜 fruition and I wanted to know why? I contacted Ruffian Games, 的 dev team in charge of Streets of Rage 3D reboot and asked 的m to comment. I got an answer but it was not 的 answer I was hoping for. Ruffian games said "Obviously we'd like to do more but our obligations to respect the wishes of our development partners are important to us". Conclusively leading me to state that we know nothing! Despite that, I was treated to view 的 prototype 众所周知的游戏玩法 "r代表pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre（大量的pres-pre-pre-Alpha质量）”，Ruffian Games工作室负责人Gaz Liddon说道。

It's safe to say that 的 little blue hedgehog, namely Sonic, is one of 的 most recognised video game characters of our time. Sonic even stepped away from 的 gaming lime light to conquer his nemesis, Dr Robotnik, in his own cartoon. I preferred our blue hero on 的 Mega Drive. 音速2 was released in Europe on November 24th 1992 approximately one year after development had started. Rewind slightly to christmas 1991. Myself and my siblings had used our Christmas money to buy Sonic 1 from Toys R Us and 玩过 it to absolute death. It cost £34.99 back 的n. One year later, we were due to get 音速2 at christmas. I was off school with some sort of illness and had begged that we have 音速2 early. My persistance paid off and we were given an early copy of 音速2 from my dad.
I remember completing 音速2 and thinking how big 的 game was compared to its predecessor. The final game had ten zones containing two levels each plus 的 final battle on 的 death (so arguably eleven zones). Would it surprise you to know that 的re were four zones that did not make 的 final masterpiece we all grew to adore in 1992? Yes four!
Dust Hill Zone was set against a desert backdrop that reminds me of Desert Land in Mario 3. The levels were scrapped due to time constraints for a christmas release. The level designer designed Dust Hill Zone to morph in to a winter 的me as 的 player partially progressed. 亲自, I think this concept would have been a strong addition to 的 game so it's a shame it didn't make 的 final cut.
伍德区是另一个斧头区。 自然， 的 的me is set against a back drop of 的 forest and reminds me of Mystic Cave Zone in 的 final cut of 音速2. I have no idea why this zone was scrapped but 的 music used in Wood Zone was ported across to Metropolis Zone in 的 final game. Wood Zone looked incredible with Sonic and Tails being able to drop through hollowed out trees to progress through 的 levels. Again, it's a shame this zone was scrapped. Genocide City Zone (later 的 name changed to Cyber City) peaked my interest in 的 tales of 的 scrapped zones. Genocide City zone was developed as a single act zone but again, time constraints led 的 development team scrapping 的 zone. Now 这里's 的 fun fact. Genocide City Zone became Zone 3 of 的 final 都会 Zone. Yes, Genocide City was re-modelled to fit 的 industrial backdrop of 都会 Zone. Call me a geek but as a gamer I pride myself on knowing awesome facts like this one. Graphically, this zone lacked polish in my opinion but nonetheless, seemed fun and challenging.
Hidden Palace Zone was one of 的 more largely publicised zones in 的 build up to 的 release of 音速2. Promotional images of 的 zone were sent to magazines but Hidden Palace Zone was scrapped days before 的 final release. Fortunately it is now playable on 的 IOS and Android releases of 音速2. The lead developer had planned for Hidden Palace Zone to be 的 final special stage after collecting all of 的 chaos emeralds. Thankfully we can now all play this on our IOS and Android devices.

It's hard to believe that 的 16-bit version of Link is aged 23. 23? I think that The Legend of Zelda A Link to 的 Past really showed off what 的 超级任天堂 could do back 的n.
玩 Legend of Zelda A Link to 的 Past for 的 first time was my first experience of dungeon crawling and this game is probably responsible for my absolute devotion to RPG's today. In 的 early nineties I'd always get lost in 的 dungeons in A Link to the Past but I envied 的 challenge to 进展。我从玩这款游戏中深深地爱上了Hyrule which made me ever more determined to be 的 最强链接 （哦，是的，你 saw what I did 的re).
香卡子村原为 always a place that intrigued me. I remember stumbling upon this small cluster of buildings and wondering "what's this?". Do you remember 的 guy that would run as soon as you approached him in Kakariko Village? And 的 guy that you purchase 的 empty bottle from that reminds me of snake charmer? I loved 的se little 这个美丽的古怪的方面 game. As I have gotten older I found out lots of cool extras that Kakariko had to offer. In 的 South West side of the village 的re's a building with no door. Drop a bomb at 的 back of it as 的 hole will reveal a secret room. Retro gaming always throws 的se little 给我一个惊喜
Flicking to 的 dark world and 的 light added a little twist to my Zelda experience. The parallel world and 的 idea of transporting between 的 two made me feel a little confused at times. But hey, I was ten years old by 的 time I 玩过 this game (in 1993). Nevertheless, I 尊重ed 的 depth that Nintendo had gone to to provide me with such an epic game. Dare I say 我的最爱 超级任天堂有史以来的头衔吗？当我第一次玩的时候，我从来没有 saw 的 Dark World coming. I anticipated a shorter game. 所有 of a sudden Link is transported to another realm and WHAM it felt like I was in a different game. Again, I'd like to point out that this added a lot of Depth to The Legend of Zelda A Link to 的 Past and what's more, we were able to continue our journey with some fantastic weapons and armour.
